When I hear or read about all the stupid things that average people say or do, I'm sure that human intelligence has been going down since the 1960's or so.
State of the Union tonight. I can recognize a room full of parasites when I see one. Wow!, and not a single one seems to realize that when the head parasite gives encouragement to the host, the host soon dies along with the parasites. Larry Bjork
Bravo, Bill. Great topic, great title, great song, and great illustrative image to go with it.
We’re forever immersed in horse-s**t and bad ideas, like zoom calls to crazy people, delivering ultimatums(below). If that happens, a one way ticket for you and your loved ones to your ranch in Argentina would seem like a relatively good idea. Not nearly so many nukes in the Southern Hemisphere.
I’m sorry you’re so excitable over this. I (and I suspect many others) simply think confronting a cornered tyrant with a nuclear ultimatum is a bad idea. And I don’t consider myself any of the labels you applied to me. I was born in Tripoli, Libya...on an American Air Force base, son of an Air Force officer who served in World War Two and on the Berlin Airlift. I grew up on Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, under the landing path of B-52’s, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In school, I learned how to duck under a desk and kiss my ass goodbye. So maybe that influenced some of my thinking. And just FYI, I have donated money to the Ukrainian cause.
You: "Please just get out of the way and go play in the corner with your very few marbles..dont swallow them, mind you! Let those of us who GIVE A DAMN get the job done." Well don’t let me stop you. Zelensky has called for volunteers and you seem to have time on your hands...
I don’t suppose he is going to join up. He is most obviously a telephone tough guy. I am in to Hall of Fame high school and college for heavyweight wrestling and I would love to have a one on one discussion with him. I don’t think he would throw around accusations.
Your greatest error in reasoning, PG V, is that you seem to believe that nuclear war is survivable. IT ISN'T! Remember the MAD doctrine from the Cold War? Mutually Assured Destruction. Whether Putin launches and the rest of the "nuclear club" responds, or vice versa, the result will be the same: Planet Earth goes up in a nuclear fireball. No survivors. At least not long-term. A few people in remote areas may survive a few days, until the winds carry the radioactive fallout to them, then they die a horrible death from radiation poisoning.
Do you have any idea what hydrogen bombs DO?!
A one-megaton nuke creates a fireball ten miles in diameter. Within that fireball, EVERYTHING is instantly vaporized.
For ten miles beyond the fireball, there is a nuclear "firestorm." Hurricane-force winds, thousands of degrees in temperature incinerate everything save for stone and, possibly, concrete. Steel melts and flows like water.
For another thirty miles beyond the firestorm, hurricane-force winds blast buildings to bits, toss cars like matchsticks, and obliterate the landscape.
Oh, and those pretty "mushroom clouds?" They're carrying thousands of tons of radioactive dust and debris up into the stratosphere, where it will get dispersed by winds, all over the earth, to kill everything it falls on.
All that is from ONE BOMB!! Both Russia and the U.S. have thousands of ICBMs (Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles) that carry MIRVs (Multiple Independently-targetable Re-entry Vehicles) i.e. bombs. Depending upon the missile, they may carry up to ten, one-megaton, nuclear warheads that can each be aimed at a different target.
And, you want the world to join together and nuke Putin if he launches?! So, you want Russia, America, England, China, India, Pakistan, France and Israel to all start lobbing thousands of nuclear bombs back and forth across the world, and you think that ANYONE is going to be left?!
If that's what you believe, you have totally lost your grip on reality! There's a reason that America and Russia never went to war during the Cold War. Both sides knew that a nuclear conflict was un-survivable, so neither side was crazy enough to press the button. Putin may be crazy enough. We need some way of dealing with him that doesn't involve the use of nuclear weapons.
I think you're absolutely right when you say that we should cut off all sales of Russian oil. That's the FIRST thing the world should have done, and that's what Biden would do if he had any balls. Energy -- oil and gas -- is Russia's lifeblood. Cut all of that off and make life so miserable for the average Russian and Putin's supporters that there would be a popular uprising. Cut off ALL dealings with Russia. Make it illegal for ANY country or ANY company to do any business with Russia, whatsoever. Completely isolate them and turn them into a pariah state.
Would that make things tough for us? Yeah, in the short term. Prices on some things would go up and we might experience some shortages. But anything is better than nuclear war.
If the entire Russian population went to the streets in protest, Putin's goons wouldn't be able to arrest everyone. If things got bad enough in Russia, maybe someone would decide that enough is enough and they'd take Putin out.
All they really have to do is ignore his orders. Putin can't do anything by himself. If everyone refuses to obey him, he's reduced to a sulking crybaby, nothing more.
I've read stories of some Russian troops, surrendering, rather than kill their fellow Slavs. If opposition among the forces in Ukraine continue to grow, along with opposition at home, there may be some hope. It all boils down to how many people will continue to support Putin. Hell, look at those idiots at the CPAC convention over the weekend, chanting, "Putin, Putin, Putin!" I think they should all be tried and convicted of treason! But, that's just me. If we've got morons here, in America, who support Putin, how many of his own people will continue to support him?
Realistically, it's all up to the Russian people. If the rest of the world can make things so miserable in Russia for the average person that there's a revolt against Putin's rule, that's about the best we can hope for. Even if the world's forces combined to launch an attack on Russia with conventional weapons, Putin would STILL respond by launching his nukes. And, there's no way we could get a Special Forces team in there to take him out like Bin Laden. Not without help from inside Russia. America wouldn't do it, anyway. The Israelis are probably the only ones who'd have the guts to try.
No, I didn't see it. Just read about it in the media. Granted, a lot of what the media puts out there can't be trusted. But, by the same token, the CPAC attendees are all disciples of Trump, and Trump is still lavishing praise on Putin and kissing his ass. So -- in this case, at least -- I believe the media reports.
Everybody calm down, take a deep breath, and know that all will be well in the world:) This new reality tv show is scaring millions of our fellow humans into depression, suicide, drug overdoses, alcoholism(but not from Stolichnaya)and even bunkers for the so called "Elite". WOW... Do you really beleive that life in a bunker, after all the world has been melted away, or turned into zombies from another Chinese bio-weapon, or made to listen to another hour of Joe Biden would be a better option then death? And don't you think those crazy, power hungry elitist understand this? Sorry for the scare, but life as we know it will go on for most, while watching real men like pg v, put on a show killing themselves, on our 86" ultra smart, jumbo large HD TV....and damn, it looks so real.
All will be well in the world . . . until it isn't. Some day, some way, humanity's luck will run out. And, we've been pushing that luck for way too long, kicking the can down the road instead of dealing with the things that need to be dealt with. Like Putin.
Humanity has been dodging bullets, but as they say in war, "You never hear the one that's got your name on it." There's one out there that has mankind's name on it. It may not be today, or tomorrow, or next month, or next year. But, eventually . . .
Hey brother, and you're healthy or alive until you're not. This is life and it hasn't changed since mans creation. Live your life, to the best of your ability, and things will work out until they don't. Yes, have a plan, have a Will(because you will die), and expect the best, but be prepared for the unknown. How you prepare is your choice based on your reality.
Humanity has been dodging stones, arrows, spears and bullets forever, but somehow we survive. Don't obsess over things that are fully out of our control. Focus on the you, the here and the now, and live, love and worship the good in life, and it's ok to despise the bad, but don't let it consume you, because it has a way of enveloping your mind, until it's completely dark, and your fully submerged in that darkness.
If you feel like you're being programed, it's because you are, but you're awake. Take a step back, and look at the full picture around you. If you're safe and sound where you are, enjoy the peace. If your home is on fire, get out.
I'm sure everyone in this room, who is intelligent enough to read Bill's daily, understands his ability to read between the lines, as we all should. Don't sweat the small stuff, life's too short:)
I don't disagree with anything you said, and I don't sweat the small stuff. I'm just not one of those people who runs around wearing rose-colored glasses saying, "Oh, it's going to be fine! Everything is fine!" I'm a realist and I know that everything ISN'T fine.
As civilization has advanced, materially and technologically; humanity has degenerated, morally and spiritually. There's a price to be paid for that and I sense a tipping point approaching.
Bill is hilarious and always right on the money, our politicians should be so bright!!
June can come and go if you’re a billionaire, not so much for us mortals.
Well written as always Bill! Enjoy the new BPR material your team is producing. Keep us posted on your adventures and include pictures! Cheers

Another great posting by Bill Bonner.
I enjoy reading the posts. While waiting on my ss check , where can I send a personal check to an address? Thanks. jimmiller600@gmail.com

The beauty of sub stack is that we all get to express our views and, hopefully, we can learn something.
